System Objective
Visualizing overlapping contract terms and transaction history is critical for Deal Desk to prevent coverage gaps and ensure accurate revenue recognition. Often, Deal Desk will whiteboard contract timelines to visualize them, especially with the customer base. However, whiteboarding can be challenging to collaborate on with remote workers. This tool makes it easy to map a customer's existing contract timelines alongside potential future agreements.
How to Use This Tool
- Add Existing Agreements: Use the "Underlying Agreements" section to plot current active contracts. Assign distinct colors to easily identify different service tiers or MSAs.
- Map Future Deals: Use the "Map New Agreement" section to propose renewals or consolidations. These render as dashed "ghost" timelines for clear distinction.
- Edit & Refine: Hover over any plotted bar to see exact details. Click the pencil icon to edit dates, switch colors, or attach specific notes.
- Review & Share: The canvas automatically scales to fit all inputs. Review the holistic timeline to identify gaps before sharing with stakeholders.
